The Mystic Krewe of Amon-Ra
The Mystic Krewe of Amon-Ra strives to promote and preserve the artistic and social traditions of Gay Mardi Gras within our community.
Our Krewe’s mission includes its role as a charitable organization promoting the social welfare of our citizens. We provide relief to the poor and distressed within the local New Orleans community and have accomplished this since 1965 by acquiring donations from the public through various fundraising activities.
Additionally, The Mystic Krewe of Amon-Ra provides support and funds to other similarly situated qualified charitable organizations.
All legitimate Carnival Krewe Organizations also hold a legal state charter.
Events during the year
The Mystic Krewe of Amon-Ra raises money to produce its Annual Gay Mardi Gras Ball through yearly fundraisers, socials, and other events in and around the New Orleans Community.
Most of our Krewe’s yearly fundraisers & events coincide with the New Orleans gay community events & national holidays:
Mardi Gras, Gay Easter Parade, 4th of July, NOLA Gay Pride, Southern Decadence, Halloween.
Many of the venues that host the Krewes Events are Annual Sponsors of the Krewe.
